Primary School Behaviour Management Policy

 

Statement of Purpose

 

Little Yarra is committed to creating an environment that supports the children in their education and development, where the children feel secure, happy, and loved; where the children can learn to interact positively with others; and where they can learn and develop into free, creative, and responsible human beings, free of disturbing, bullying, or harassing behaviour.

 

Policy Statement

 

  • The College of Teachers and the Primary Faculty will ensure that the school’s aims, values, and purposes are upheld.
  • The College of Teachers and the Primary Faculty will ensure that fair and supportive behaviour management practices and guidelines are used within the primary. 
  • The teachers within the Primary School will strive to create an appropriate environment in the classroom through the development of: specific aspects in their lessons, in their approach to class room management, and themselves.  These aspects include:  rhythm, reverence, authority, and modeling positive behaviours for the children.
  •  The College ensures that Corporal Punishment is not used at Little Yarra Steiner School at any time for any reason.
